Early-morning blaze under investigation

No injuries were reported in an early morning Flint fire, but officials are warning residents to use caution with space heaters in the winter months.
The fire that destroyed the home sparked around 1 a.m. Monday in the 16000 block of County Road 1112, off of Farm-to-Market Road 2661.
Noonday, Flint-Gresham and Dixie volunteer fire departments responded to the call, and the cause of the fire is under investigation by the Smith County Fire Marshal.
Firefighters said this is the first cold weather weekend and are warning residents to be careful with space heaters, to be sure they not near flammable materials such as curtains and blankets and to make sure they are in good working condition. And, have your home heating system checked out by professionals.
