'Occupy Unmasked' cast member to address UT Tyler conservatives

The University of Texas at Tyler College Constitutional Conservatives will host “Occupy” movement investigator Brandon Darby, a key cast member in the new documentary “Occupy Unmasked” at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the UTT University Center Ballroom.
Darby gained recognition for his role as an undercover operative working with the FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force to stop violence ag-ainst U.S. and Israeli citizens. He also writes for Bre itbart.com.
The public is welcome to attend. The event is free.

TEA PARTY DIRECTOR GUEST AT HIDEAWAY
Hideaway Grassroots Am-erica will meet at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Lodge at Hideaway.
Clint Stutts, program director for the Cedar Creek Lake Tea Party, will be the guest speaker.
The topic will be “nullification,” and how it could be used to protect states ag-ainst government overreach. He will explain a petition by which residents can take action against federal acts.

3 LOCAL STATE SENATORS RECEIVE APPOINTMENTS
Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst appointed three local state Senators as chairmen to Senate Committees during the coming legislative session.
Sen. Kevin Eltife, R-Tyler, was reappointed chairman of the Senate Committee on Administration.
Sen. Robert Nichols, R-Jacksonville, was appointed chairman of the Senate Committee on Transportation. Nichols is a former Texas Department of Transportation commissioner.
Sen. Robert Deuell, R-Greenville, was appointed chairman of the Senate Committee on Economic Development, which is given the task to find ways to increase the state’s economy and create jobs.
