Tyler ISD donates books to Azleway
Staff Reports
Tyler ISD donated hundreds of books to Azleway Boys Ranch in Tyler.
Tyler ISD donated hundreds of books to Azleway Boys Ranch in Tyler.
The books came from the Jim Plyler Instructional Complex, which had received them from other TISD schools, according to TISD.
Students at Plyler typically use the books available to them in their classrooms rather than the library books, according to the news release.
Because of that, Vanessa Choice, director of alternative programs at Plyler, decided to donate the books to Azleway to help start a library there.
“Any time you can help kids, it is definitely an opportunity you want to take advantage of,” Ms. Choice said.
