Nathanial is a 10-year-old boy with a gentle spirit and a big heart. His teacher describes him as a wonderful child.

And Jennifer Hayes, with Child Protective Services, says, “He is a really sweet kid.”

Nathanial does best with older children and he is working to build his self-confidence.

“He is autistic and he is in special education classes and he does really well. He reads really well too,” Hayes says.

Nathanial adds, “I do math.”

This special young man takes pride in doing things well.

“He’s really good at Legos,” says Hayes. “He likes Legos and puzzles and things that he can put together with his hands.”

He also likes to stay active.

Nathan says he plays outside and plays on the computer when he is inside.

“He likes swing sets, slides, that kind of thing. He likes ‘Star Wars.’ He has shown me his light saber every visit I’ve been out, so that’s his favorite thing right now,” Hayes says.

Nathanial doesn’t like loud noises and prefers quiet settings.

He would do best with a forever family who understands autism and is willing to love and support him as he continues to grow and learn.

Hayes said, “He’s made a lot of progress and I think he has a lot of progress to make.”

Nathanial hopes he gets a second chance at a bright future with a forever family.

“He’s a really neat kid. He is, I think, ready for an adoptive family,” says Hayes.
