Wake Up, October 5
People seem to be so busy just trying to make a living and take care of their families that they don’t know what is really happening in our nation and our government. When you look at the national budget, mandatory spending costs more than what is collected, so we have to borrow the money for national security and running the government.

Instead of working to solve the crisis, the Congress and president pushed to raise the debt ceiling. We keep hearing that unemployment is 8.1 percent, but recent regulations and increased taxes restrict companies from hiring.

America’s oil, gas, and coal resources have been regulated and restricted in lieu of financial handouts to environmental energy sources, and many of those are now in bankruptcy proceedings.

Our government was structured so that power was dispersed over three distinct and independent branches, each as a check on the others. By using executive orders, this president has put many executive powers in place which transfer unlimited power to the executive branch.

I am so concerned about the future of our nation. Oct. 9 is the last day to register to vote. There are still forums and rallies being held. Don’t skip the debates on television. Be an informed voter so you can make your vote count for America.
