Benches, Tables, October 5
I am very disappointed to see that the picnic tables and benches on the downtown square have been unceremoniously, and without notice, removed from the square. I used to see children play around the T.B. Butler Fountain Plaza while their parents rested and watched them. Folks used to use the picnic tables for lunch or a snack.
The Smith County Judge’s office told that the benches are in the process of being replaced but that the picnic tables would not be replaced. Don’t we want to see the downtown section more vibrant and utilized?
Smith County should return to the people these items of comfort and convenience on Tyler’s only public square.
