Texas Comptroller Susan Combs named E.J. Moss Intermediate School as a 2012 Texas Honors Circle Campus, according to a Lindale ISD news release.
The award is based in part on a school or district's FAST (Financial Allocation Study for Texas) rating.
The rating is from one to five stars, and an elementary school must have a five-star rating to receive the Texas Honors Circle designation, according to the news release.
E.J. Moss serves fourth- through sixth-graders.
E.J. Moss Intermediate School Principal Lori Anderson said the school's staff works diligently to provide a top-notch education with minimal spending, according to the news release.
The campus has received several other honors in recent years.
For three consecutive years, E.J. Moss has been named a Title 1, Distinguished Performance School by the No Child Left Behind Division of the Texas Education Agency, according to the news release.
In 2011, E.J. Moss was named a Texas Business and Education Coalition Honor Roll School.
