Tickets sold out for chamber banquet
Staff Reports
With a western theme, Palestine Area Chamber of Commerce’s annual banquet — 6 to 10 p.m. Thursday — will feature a mechanical bull, a band, casino, dancing, auctions and announcement of several award recipients.
The theme of the event at Anderson County Youth Livestock Pavilion will be “Rhinestone Roundup: A Denim and Diamonds Gala.”
About 350 people are expected to attend. Tickets are sold out, and it will be the largest banquet the chamber has had, according to Executive Director Meghan Hill.
Awards will be announced for the Citizen of the Year, Business of the Year, Volunteer of the Year, Rookie Ambassador of the Year, Ambassador of the Year and a community award.
Outgoing chamber president Sloan Shuffler and incoming chamber president Alan George will speak.
The chamber’s new magazine will be unveiled.
