Public anthropology lecture set today
Several anthropology lectures will be given in the coming weeks in recognition of Archaeology Awareness Month.

The University of Texas at Tyler will offer the public lectures with the first one scheduled for today, according to a news release.

Dr. Thomas Guderjan, assistant professor of anthropology, will give the lecture “Exploring the Ancient Maya Civilization” at 3 p.m. today in the University Center theater.

Dr. Wade Meade, UT Tyler adjunct lecturer, will give the lecture, “The Augoratorium of the Palatine: One of Rome’s Oldest Structures” at 3 p.m. Oct. 9 in the UC theater.

Lecture sponsors are the UT Tyler Global Awareness through Education and Honors Programs.

Dr. Kent Reilly, Texas State University professor of anthropology, will present a Texas Archeology Society lecture, “The Art and Iconography of the Ancient Caddo People of East Texas” at 7 p.m. Oct. 26 in the UC theater. This lecture is partially funded by Humanities Texas.
