Tyler offers parents information via Web
Staff Reports
The Tyler ISD website gives parents the opportunity to engage in their child or children’s education.
Parents can access information related to their student or students, including school events, announcements, and class assignments, according to a district news release.
Parents can set up email notifications to stay up-to-date with school activities.
To access the resources, parents should go to the Tyler ISD homepage, tylerisd.org, and select the “Parents & Students” tab. Then select the “Parent Web Registration” link which provides information and tutorials on how to register, according to the release.
To register, parents must create a username and secure password, and provide their child’s student identification number and birth date.
Once registered, parents can log in by clicking the “Website Login” tab on the left side of the TISD homepage under the district calendar and entering their username and password. Parents will be able to see only information related to their child, according to the news release.
Once parents register and log in to the website, they can access a variety of information including student schedules, school calendar, video postings, links to class websites and a prompt to set up email notifications.
The iCal Feed option also is available to download a school calendar to a personal electronic device.
“We are always searching for ways to make it easier for parents to stay informed about what their children are experiencing in the classroom,” interim Superintendent Gary Mooring said, according to the news release. “The features on our website provide a useful tool for parents to view their students’ academic information in one convenient location.”
