Seminar to touch on tithes

De’Bois and NaTasha Gooden, founders of Keeping it Real with Us Ministries, will hold a seminar, “The Malachi Project: The Tithe Scandal,” to inform the public against a church practice it says was never prescribed by the Bible.

De’Bois and NaTasha Gooden, founders of Keeping it Real with Us Ministries, will hold a seminar, “The Malachi Project: The Tithe Scandal,” to inform the public against a church practice it says was never prescribed by the Bible.
The practice is taken from Malachi 3:10, which reads, “‘Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,’ says the LORD Almighty, ‘and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it’” (NIV).
But the organizers of the seminar argue that church leaders use the verse to manipulate and that Jesus and the apostles never addressed the issue, according to a written release.
