Samsung Electronics donates $8,000 in technology equipment
To celebrate Hunger Action Month, Samsung Electronics donated $8,000 in technology equipment to the East Texas Food Bank.

Samsung donated 3,000 boxes for rural food distribution and 10 Samsung Galaxy Tab™ 10.1 devices for more mobility in promoting East Texas Food Bank services across its 26-county region.

“The East Texas Food Bank is honored to receive a sizable donation during Hunger Action Month from a global organization like Samsung, who cares deeply about the well-being of members in our community who have fallen on hard times,” said Jennifer Yoder, development director, East Texas Food Bank, in a news release. “Thanks to Samsung’s generous donation, the East Texas Food Bank will have an additional 3,000 boxes to fill with food and will use the 10 Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1™ devices to provide East Texas Food Bank employees with increased mobility to better use technology in performing their job and feed more East Texans.”

In 2011, about 15 million meals have been distributed through the East Texas Food Bank to residents in need.
