Arrest warrant to be issued for at least 1 after drug search
Staff Reports

Charges are pending for at least one person who was found during a narcotics search warrant, the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office announced Tuesday.

The search warrant was served about 4 p.m. Monday by the Narcotics Division of the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office at a residence at 390 Tarrant Road (County Road 3705) in Bullard.

During execution of the warrant, officers located and seized about two oun-ces of marijuana inside the residence, along with 14 marijuana plants from outside, according to a news release.

A subsequent search of the residence yielded four firearms as well as “several other items of paraphernalia and evidence,” the release states.

Investigators identified three suspects at the scene, but no arrests were made.

According to a news release, charges are pending and an arrest warrant will be sought on at least one of the suspects from the residence.

The search warrant, which was signed by District Judge Dwight Phifer, was the culmination of an ongoing investigation, which also included another narcotics search warrant executed on Sept. 14 in the Mount Selman area, in which one person was arrested for possession of marijuana.
