Joe W. Lowe Jr.
Joe Wheeler Lowe, Jr., 88, passed away on Sept. 20, 2012. Service: 11 a.m., Monday, Sept. 24, 2012, at Crawford-A. Crim Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Lynn Loe officiating.

Visitation will be at 10:00 a.m. one hour before the service. Burial will follow in Glenfawn Cemetery under the direction of Crawford-A. Crim Funeral Home.

Joe Lowe was born on October 20, 1923 in Glenfawn, Texas, to Joe W. Lowe, Sr. and Katie Risinger Lowe. He was their only child. On Dec. 21, 1947 he married the love of his life, Mary Ellen Peacock. They spent 64 years together. He will be forever remembered for his devotion to church and family. He was an active member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church. Joe served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. Following his military service, he graduated from SFA with a business degree and worked for Amoco Oil for 35 years. He also raised cattle and gardened on the family farm which is known as the Richardson-Lowe Plantation. He donated the first syrup copper pan which helped begin the first syrup festival in 1987.

The family would like to express its sincerest appreciation to the dedicated staff of Hospice of East Texas, the church family of St. Paul’s, and dear relatives and friends.

Survivors include: his wife of 64 years, Mary; son, Joey Lowe and wife Wendy of Idaho Falls, Idaho; daughter, Kay Keith and husband Tom of Fort. Worth; grandchildren, Tim Keith and wife Kari of Fort. Worth, Suzanne Cohen and husband Adam of New York City Nathan Lowe of Idaho Falls, Idaho; three beautiful great-grandchildren, Garrett and Taylor Keith of Ft. Worth, and Marc Cohen, New York City.

Memorials in lieu of flowers may be made to St. Paul’s Methodist Church on Highway 79 South to: P.O. Box 1226, Henderson, 75653 of the charity of your choice.
