Locally-based stations wins Christian broadcast award
Staff Reports

Locally based 89.5 KVNE radio station announced this week it received the Christian Music Broadcasters 2012 Small Market Station of the Year award at the annual Momentum Convention in Orlando, Fla.

“God has blessed us with a great team that works together to bring glory to God, to encourage people and to point them to Jesus,” 89.5 KVNE president/CEO Troy Kriechbaum said. “We strive to connect our listeners to opportunities for service in East Texas and they appreciate that. We are honored to be nationally recognized, and we give all the glory to God for His faithfulness to us.”

The station was judged by Christian Music Broadcasters (CMB) on on-air presentation, community involvements, ratings, new media and industry leadership. Christian Music Broadcasters is the trade association that represents radio networks, stations, individuals and ministries that daily serve millions of listeners in this country and around the world.

KVNE is listener supported, which staff members said is a key to the station’s success.

“We are in such awe of how God has used this ministry,” Mike Harper, station manager/morning host, said. “He could have so easily done it in other ways with other people, but He has given us this great gift of Christian radio in East Texas, and has done so for nearly three decades.

“We have a great team assembled, all of whom are using their individual and unique gifts to facilitate the many resources He has provided. But the message of Christ’s love could not happen without His movement upon the hearts of so many people to give. We will always be grateful for the thousands of people who give sacrificially to support 89.5 KVNE and 91.3 KGLY. May God bless them all above and beyond for their kind generosity.”
