Student receives Bullard Rotary’s first scholarship
Andre Bowers is the first recipient of the Bullard Rotary Club Annual Scholarship, established through the Tyler Junior College Foundation.
A 2012 graduate of Robert E. Lee High School in Tyler, Bowers is a freshman in TJC’s automotive technology program, according to a news release.
As part of the scholarship criteria, the recipient must have participated in their high school’s dual-credit automotive technology program.
The scholarship provides Bowers with $2,500 for the 2012-13 academic year, according to the news release.
The TJC Automotive Technology program is certified by the National Automotive Technician Education Foundation (NATEF), and graduating students entering the job market can earn up to $30,000 per year.
