Man sought after Cherokee County chase
Cherokee County and Texas Department of Public Safety officials are searching for a man who ran from authorities this morning.

The chase started about 9 a.m. on Farm-to-Market Road 747, near County Road 3203.

Precinct 3 Constable Eddie Lee said he tried to stop the man, who was on a dirt bike, because the man almost ran into him. He chased him about five minutes down to County Road 3115, and then the man then went into a wooded area, he said.

Lee couldn’t get his vehicle down there, and four DPS officers are working with the sheriff’s office to find the suspect.

Lee said authorities believe the man is Chad Beck, of Jacksonville, who has a warrant out of Anderson County for burglary.

The suspect was wearing a white T-shirt and had tattoos on his arm.
