Tyler police responded to the accident about 4:20 a.m. Sunday at the intersection of Troup Highway and Thistle.

According to a press release, officers determined that Bradford Gregory, 39, of Winona, was heading northbound on Troup and was stopped for a red light at Thistle.

Ethan Draper, 20, of Whitehouse, was driving a 1988, Toyota, Camry, northbound on Troup Highway and ran into the rear of Gregory's 2008 Ford Expedition while he was stopped at the red traffic light.

Gregory was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Draper was transported to a local hospital where he later died from injuries he sustained.

The press release stated there were no evident signs that alcohol was a factor on Mr. Draper, but investigators will request a medical report to determine if any substance was a contributing factor.
