Slight chance for showers
An approaching upper-level disturbance will bring additional cloud cover to East Texas, along with a slight chance for showers or thunderstorms this afternoon and evening. Rainfall totals will be light, due to the drier air that still resides closer to the surface, and will cause evaporation of much of the rain before it even reaches the ground. The clouds will help keep temperatures in check — near to slightly below normal through the end of the work week, with an additional chance for showers by Friday.
