A Friday night accident outside Mineola left one man dead and critically injured another, according to reports from the Texas Department of Public Safety.
A Friday night accident outside Mineola left one man dead and critically injured another, according to reports from the Texas Department of Public Safety.
Officials said the incident happened at 11:27 p.m. on U.S. Highway 80, about 4.5 miles east of Mineola in Wood County.
Authorities said Kevin Dale Worsham, 35, of Quitman, was sitting in the westbound lane of the highway when he was struck by Herbert W. Owens, 62, of Alba, traveling on a 2007 Harley Davidson.
Worsham was pronounced dead at the scene by Judge Clancy Holmes, Wood County Justice of the Peace Precinct 3.
Owens, who was not wearing a helmet, was transported to East Texas Medical Center where he was listed in critical condition, officials said.
Texas Highway Patrol trooper Gary Hayes, Emory office, is investigating.
