Jason Russell blends voices, slapstick for light, silly set

e may not say his name when you get Jason Russell’s voice mail, but there’s little denying it’s his phone you’ve reached. Going through no less than three different comedic voices, by the time you hear the “beep” you’ve already begun laughing to the point that you almost forget to leave a message.
If Russell can elicit laughs like that via voice mail, it’s probably safe to say the audience and Lago del Pino in Tyler are in for a pretty good show.
Russell is a 20-year veteran of the stand-up comedy circuit, consistently delivering his unique blend of voices, slapstick and observational humor. Inspired by the likes of Richard Pryor, Eddie Murphy and Jim Carrey, Russell said he likes to keep his set light and silly.
