Rebecca Corley
Funeral services for Rebecca Jane Thompson Corley, age 35, of Rusk are scheduled for 3 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2012, at First Baptist Church in Rusk with the Rev. Jan Pate, the Rev. Don Cope-land, the Rev. Donnie Barron and the Rev. Jim Goforth officiating. Interment will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery under direction of Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home in Rusk.

Rebecca left us Sunday, Aug. 12, 2012, to be in the arms of Jesus. She died at home, surrounded by family and friends. She was born June 23, 1977, in Jacksonville. Rebecca was a lifelong resident of Rusk. She graduated from Rusk High School in 1995 and attended Lon Morris College on a music scholarship.

She graduated from Lon Morris with an associate degree and from The University of Texas at Tyler with a Bachelor of Science degree in education. She was employed at Rusk ISD and taught at Rusk Primary School for 10 years. Some of Rebecca’s talents included singing and writing. She had a love for gardening and a passionate heart for the Lord. Rebecca was a lighthouse for the community and touched many lives with her kind spirit. She was a loving daughter, sister, wife and mother.

She was preceded in death by grandparents, Gladstone and Jane Thompson, Charles and Madelin Sharp; and infant aunt, Suzanne Melton.

She is survived by her husband, Clint Corley of Rusk; two sons, Carson and Anderson Corley of Rusk; parents, Jimmy and Sharon Thompson of Rusk; one brother and sister-in-law, Stoney and Mary Thompson of Rusk; grandparents, Ray and Reba Melton of Tyler; fathers-in-law and mothers-in-law, Marshall and Sharla Corley of Alto, Johnny and Becky Spraggins of Rusk; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Mark and Stephanie Davis of Alto, Jarrod and Shelly Holland of Bridge City, Robert and Christy Imbriale of Brooklyn, N.Y.; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Pallbearers will include I.K. Frazer, Larry Long, Neill Long, Tommy Grogan, Steve Tugwell, Bryan Sessions, Jeremy Driver and Ricky McIntyre Sr.
Family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2012, at the funeral home.
