Tyler police traffic stop nets big drug arrest
Tyler police are charging a man with felony drug possession after finding more than five pounds of methamphetamine during a traffic stop.

According to a news release issued by the Tyler Police Department, Fernando Zertuche was stopped in the 3300 block of Mineola Highway Saturday night.

A police dog working with the arresting officer indicated that there might be illegal substances in the car, the release reads, and the vehicle was searched.

Officers found 5.4 pounds of methamphetamine, valued at almost $100,000, in a hidden compartment in the car.

Zertuche is charged with manufacture of delivery of a controlled substance, a first degree felony, according to the release.
