Tyler A&M Moms hosting dinner
The Tyler A&M Mothers’ Club will host their Howdy Dinner on Thursday, Kathy Robertson, spokeswoman for the club announced.
The event is scheduled for 6:15 p.m. at Pollard United Methodist Church, 3030 Copeland Road. There will be a potluck dinner and an opportunity to meet other Tyler-area Aggies and their families. Aggie moms will provide the meat dish. You are asked to bring a two-liter drink along with a dish to share according to your last name: A-L dessert, M-S vegetable and T-Z salad.
Dr. Cynthia Boettcher, Texas A&M University Class of 1976, will be featured speaker and will share her love of Texas A&M through her illustrated, hard-bound volumes which feature timeless traditions and Aggie Spirit.
Boettcher has served as clinical professor at Texas A&M in the Department of Teaching, Learning and Culture from 2003-2012. She will be available to autograph volumes purchased and will provide a $5 donation from each purchase to the Tyler Mothers’ Club scholarship fund.
The evening will also include welcoming incoming freshman, transfer students and recognizing our 2012 scholarship recipients.
For questions please contact club president Lissa Lindsey at 903-842-8561. You can also check their website at www.club.aggienetwork.com/tyler momsclub.
The purpose of the non-profit organization is to support students, learn more about TAMU and its traditions, build friendships with other moms and raise money for student scholarships.
