Alba Woman Arrested For Child Sex Assault
An Alba woman accused of aggravated sexual assault of a child was in the Wood County Jail Wednesday after a tip led to her arrest.
According to a brief news release issued by the Wood County Sheriff's Office Wednesday afternoon, Roni Curry, 24, was picked up in Alba by deputies on a Crime Stoppers tip around 11:20 p.m. Tuesday night.
She's charged with aggravated sexual assault of a child and a bond was set at $100,000, according to the release.
Ms. Curry has been arrested three times since December. The December charge was for “continuous sexual abuse of a child,” according to jail records Ms. Curry turned herself into the sheriff's office and was released in January after posting a $20,000 bond, according to jail records. The charge leveled against her in March was for “sexual abuse of a child, bond forfeiture,” according to Wood County Jail records.
Wood County authorities were seeking Ms. Curry and David Bowman beginning in December for allegedly sexually assaulting a girl under the age of 14, according to past documents from the sheriff's office.
Bowman was arrested in January and charged with continuous sexual abuse of a child, according to jail records.
