Plane Crashes in Wood County
Texas Department of Public Safety officials confirmed a small airplane crash in Wood County.
Brian South, the chief security officer for Holly Lake Ranch, said a small plane was flying over the runway around 11:15 a.m. this morning. Witness accounts indicate the plane may have lost power, which caused it to crash, he said, though the exact cause is unknown.
The pilot, whose identity has not been released, was taken to a Longview hospital with minor injuries, he said.
South said the airport is a small residential airport used for private flight. It handles no commercial traffic, he said.
