Homemade Pizza Sauce
1-12 ounce jar of low-sodium tomato puree or sauce
1 tablespoon olive oil
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 1/2 teaspoons dried oregano
1 1/2 teaspoons dried basil
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
In a saucepan add the olive oil and garlic. Turn heat to medium and continue to stir until garlic is soft, but not browned. Add the tomato puree and remaining ingredients. Bring to a simmer and allow to simmer for 15 minutes. Check seasonings and add more salt or pepper to taste. Allow the sauce to cool before building the pizzas.
