Dual Language Program Meetings Set
A series of meetings are planned this week for parents of students participating in the dual language program offered through the Tyler Independent School District.
The district also is announcing the start of new student registration, which begins Aug. 8.
Meetings for the dual language program are planned for 6 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, and 11 a.m. Thursday at Birdwell Elementary School Auditorium, 2010 South Talley Avenue, Tyler.
Parents of students in the 2012-2013 dual language program for students in Head Start through fifth grade are encouraged to attend.
New student registration is set for 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. Aug 8; 9 a.m. to noon on Aug. 14; noon to 3 p.m. Aug. 15; and 9 a.m. to noon on Aug. 16 at the John Tyler High School cafeteria.
Students will need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian, who will be asked to provide photo identification and the following items: birth certificate; Social Security card; shot records; proof of residence (most recent water bill, electric bill, or lease agreement); and a report card for last school year or a copy of the student’s transcript for those going into grades 10-12.
