Tyler ISD Superintendent Reid Hired By Keller ISD
Keller Independent School District's school board approved hiring Tyler ISD's superintendent, Dr. Randy Reid, at a special meeting this evening.
Reid was named the sole candidate for the Keller district, about 43 miles northwest of Dallas, at the beginning of the month. But the district was required by law to wait 21 days before officially hiring the lone finalist.
The school board met at 6:30 p.m. for regular business, during which time they approved contract details.
Tyler ISD is expected, at its school board meeting tonight, to approve Gary Mooring to serve as the district's interim superintendent, officials have said.
Mooring previously served as the district's interim superintendent for seven months in 2007, prior to Reid coming to Tyler.
