Eva Simms
Eva Marie Cole Simms, 100, of Tyler passed from this earthly body to her heavenly body Monday, July 23, 2012. She was born to Gene and Lena Cole Jan. 13, 1912, in Point. She was a Pentecostal and a lifelong member of The Church of God, attending Rose Heights. She had lived in Tyler since 1970, and was a homemaker, loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister.
She is survived by one son, David E. Simms Jr. of Tyler; grandson, David and his wife Laura Simms; and great-granddaughter, Haley of Grand Prairie.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Dave Simms; brothers, Wayne and Felton Cole; sisters, Effie Swain and Estelle Simms; and lifelong best friend, Rachel White.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, July 27, 2012, at Tyler Memorial Funeral Home and Cemetery, 12053 Texas Highway 64 W., Tyler, with visitation one hour prior to services.
The Rev. Pat Wells will officiate. David Simms, Shawn Starnes, Stacy Larsen, Marty Kearney, Pat Johnson and Jeff Emmons will serve as pallbearers.
