Ann Murphree
Ann Murphree, 77, passed away July 21, 2012, in Tyler. Born Dec. 16, 1934 in Dallas, Ann was the only child of William Clarence Reese and Mary Alice Mixon. In 1951 she met the love of her life, Lee Murphree, and they were married in March 1952. The young couple soon began a family with sons, Jerry, Garry, and daughter, Susan. While supporting her husband’s 22-year career in the Air Force, Ann devoted herself to raising their family during various assignments throughout the world. Ann and Lee Murphree were married for 60 years.
In October 1971, Lee retired from the military and moved to Edgewood, where Ann worked as a tax assessor for Edgewood ISD. After retiring again, Ann and Lee moved to Canton, where they became active members at First United Methodist Church, and later to Tyler where they attended Lane’s Chapel, where her life was changed forever when she accepted Jesus into her life.

Ann is survived by her son, Jerry Murphree and wife Julie, of Tyler; son, Garry Murphree and wife Kim, of Mineola; daughter, Susan Spoor and husband Mike, of Grand Saline; five grandchildren, Clayton Spoor and wife Payton, of Sunnyvale, Candace Anness and husband John, of San Antonio, Halley Cade, of Austin, Jaclyn Murphree, of Lindale and Mackenzie Murphree, of Tyler; two great-grandchildren, Carter and Jaxon Anness, of San Antonio. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lee Murphree; grandson, Michael Murphree; and two brothers, J.M. Davidson and B.C. Davidson.
Family visitation will be held at 10 a.m., immediately followed by services at 11 a.m. on Monday, July 23, 2012 at Eubank Funeral Home, 27532 Texas Highway 64 in Canton.
