Arrest Made In String Of Sexual Assaults
A Tyler man was arrested on Friday and charged with continuous sexual abuse of young children after a 9-year-old girl reported that she and several of her friends of the same age had been sexually assaulted, according to a news release from the Tyler Police Department.
The police responded to Shiloh Pines, a mobile home park at 2525 Shiloh Road, to investigate the sexual assault of a child. Thomas Harold George Brookbank, 21, is being held in the Smith County Jail on a $750,000 bond, the release stated.
The victim told police that the assaults occurred in a wooded area -- where the suspect known as "Tom" made a club house -- inside the mobile home park on numerous occasions during the past month, according to the release.
Investigators were called to the scene and obtained evidence to secure an arrest warrant for Brookbank.
