Thanks For Coverage Roses, July 15
On behalf of the Wood County Historical Commission and myself, we want to thank the newspaper for the wonderful coverage of the dedication for the Aunt Jemima historical marker.
Tim Monzingo of your staff, who represents our area, was contacted about coverage for the event, and we could never have asked for better coverage and consideration.
Tim called me several times to get information he would need to do the story, and to tell me how the paper would promote the dedication. Tim also called Mrs. Jewel McCalla, niece of Lillian Richard, for an interview to get background information on Lillian Richard and other personal information about her.
The Sunday morning coverage, a highlighted story, was excellent and we have received numerous compliments on it, and Mrs. McCalla and her family were excited and very pleased.
Saturday, June 30, the day of the dedication, Richard Hall from your staff came and took numerous photos and the three in the Sunday paper were excellent. Also Richard, and his son, helped with the last minute preparations.
Roses and our gratitude for the Tyler Paper always providing coverage of these area events as it permits us to highlight the very important history of Wood County and East Texas.
