Boy Killed In Wyoming Crash, Other Family Injured
From Staff and KYTX CBS19 Reports
The Wyoming Highway Patrol is investigating a single-vehicle crash that killed a 2-year-old Tyler boy and hospitalized his mother.
Dispatchers with the Platte County branch of the highway patrol said the vehicle carrying the Saine family tried to pass another vehicle on a stretch of Interstate 25, near the Glendo Reservoir, which is about 100 miles from Cheyenne, over the weekend.
Officials said the truck left the road and the trailer being pulled behind the vehicle detached, causing the trailer and vehicle to flip.
Matthew Saine was ejected from the vehicle during the accident and died as a result of the injuries suffered in the accident. His mother, Lisa, was listed in critical condition at a Wyoming hospital Tuesday.
Maverick, 11, was transferred to the same hospital as Mrs. Saine and suffers from broken legs as a result of the accident.
