Gratitude, July 8
ROSES: I would like to express my gratitude to the Brookshire Company for including me in the trip to Washington D.C. honoring World War II veterans.
Every hour was so well organized and each veteran felt a personal touch by the volunteer employees. Every wheelchair case was given special attention.
We were so touched by all (children especially) who were visiting the World War II memorials and wanted to shake our hands.
We toured the Capitol building with Rep. Louie Gohmert acting as our guide.
We witnessed the changing of the guard at the Arlington National Cemetery and each evening we were treated with wonderful food and entertainment.
Every hour was well planned but I think our send-off at Brookshire’s on Rice Road at 5 a.m. with a touching program, honor guards with flags flying and a police motorcade gave us an insight of what to expect.
Kudos to Brookshire’s and Super 1 Foods for making us feel so important.
