Support Larry Smith For Sheriff In Runoff, July 8
In the upcoming election for Sheriff of Smith County, we have two choices — Larry Smith and Chris Green. Mr. Green is a retired Texas Parks and Wildlife law enforcement officer, having retired at age 50 after 20 years service. His law enforcement background is quite limited compared to that of his opponent.
Larry Smith, on the other hand, has an extremely extensive law enforcement background. In his early career, he was a deputy sheriff in Greg County. He was in the Investigative Division for about 11 years, investigating mostly felonies. He spent 8 years as a captain in the division, supervising other deputies and participating in investigations.
As an ATF agent, he had broad law enforcement responsibilities, investigating arson and explosion cases, and other major violations of the law. Smith was the lead ATF agent in a task force consisting of federal, state, and local officials.
He also has experience enforcing drug laws.
Larry Smith has run an honest, up-front campaign and has not fabricated information or charges against his opponent. Smith has a total of 34 years broad-based law enforcement experience, compared to Green’s limited 20. There is no question that Larry Smith is the best qualified candidate for sheriff of Smith County. He will make an excellent sheriff and deserves our vote.
