Family, Friends Day Set Sunday
People’s Missionary Baptist Church will have its annual Family and Friends Day at 3 p.m. Sunday. The Rev. M. E. Lyons of Goodwill Baptist Church will be the guest speaker.
FAITH CONFERENCE
Faith Conference 2012 will be at Bethany Word of Life Tabernacle on July 12 and 13. Guest speaker each night will be Suffragan Bishop Leon Parker of Dallas. A seminar on “risk-taking” will be taught each day from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. by pastor Sanders and others. Night service will begin at 7 p.m. nightly. The public is invited.
SPLASH KINGDOM
Christian water park, Splash Kingdom, is having a “Splash Out Hunger” initiative to donate to local food banks. Customers who bring two non-perishable food items to any Splash Kingdom will receive a free meal voucher for lunch at the water park.
The donations will go to Manna Food Bank in Canton and The Hub: Urban Ministries in Shreveport, La.
Splash Kingdom has two locations, off of Interstate 20, Splash Kingdom Canton (exit 526), and Splash Kingdom Shreveport (exit 8).

CHRISTIAN EDUCATION
The East Texas Baptist Congress of Christian Education had its 13th annual school session at host church, North Star MBC, with pastor Charles Faulks. Leaders and teachers attend classes for years in the district, state, regional and national congresses to qualify to become certified for positions as deans and instructors.
The following were recognized: Charles Burns, Billy Cleaver, Benjamin Horne, John Johnson, Bobby Land, Marilyn Brown, Hester Cotton, Ernestine Foreman, Joyce Hasley Alice Hinton, Williestene Johnson and Minnie Williams.
