UPDATE: TISD's Reid Declared Lone Finalist For Keller ISD Top Spot
Tyler ISD Superintendent Dr. Randy Reid has been declared the lone finalist for the Keller ISD superintendent position.
The decision came in a 5-0 vote during a special board meeting on Monday. Two board members were out of town.
Keller is located about 20 miles north of Fort Worth. The district has 39 campuses and serves more than 33,000 students.

Keller ISD board President Kevin Stevenson said the board is thrilled to have someone of Reid's caliber as the lone finalist for the position.
“Dr. Reid is the perfect fit for our district,” Stevenson said, according to a news release. “He has deep Texas roots, fiscal responsibility, and operational transparency.”

State law requires the district to wait 21 days before the board officially can hire him.
Reid, 53, has served as TISD superintendent for five years.
He said he will work with the TISD board to set up a transition plan and determine when he will leave to assume his new position.
