Slight Break In Temps
The ridge of high pressure aloft across the southern plains continues to drive temperatures toward the 100-degree mark. The air is drier behind a cold front that backed into East Texas from the northeast Wednesday. That will make it feel more comfortable and make it harder to reach heat advisory criteria. A heat advisory means the heat index is expected to top 105 degrees. The high pressure ridge is expected to weaken this weekend, which will shave a few degrees off the high temperatures. It will also allow a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms Sunday and Monday.
