All Saints Graduate Ranked No. 15 In U.S. For Original Oratory
All Saints Episcopal School graduate Austin Green earned special recognition for excellence in speech and debate at the 2012 Lincoln Financial Group/National Forensic League National Speech and Debate Tournament earlier this month in Indianapolis.
Green, who graduated this year, was honored for breaking into the top 30 competitors at the tournament in Original Oratory, ultimately walking away ranked 15th in the entire nation, according to a news release about the event. He was coached by Kristi Braley.
In addition to Green, three other All Saints students qualified to the National Tournament for the second time. They were Ella Lowery, Lauren McMann and Makenzie Lohman.

About 3,000 students participated in the 2012 National Forensic League National Tournament, which is billed as the world’s largest academic competition, according to the news release.
The event drew visitors from across the country and beyond. Top performers take home more than $200,000 in college scholarships.
To attend, students must qualify at one of the National Forensic League’s 108 district tournaments.
National competition occurs in eleven main events — policy debate, public forum debate, Lincoln-Douglas debate, congressional debate-house, congressional debate-senate, original oratory, United States extemporaneous speaking, international extemporaneous speaking, humorous interpretation, dramatic interpretation, and duo interpretation. Seven consolation and supplemental events are available as well.
