Tyler-Area Community Announces New Leaders
Every Baha’i community with more than nine members elects a nine-person administrative body every year on April 21, called the Local Spiritual Assembly. The date is significant because it coincides with the day their spiritual leader, Baha’u’llah, announced he fulfilled the prophecies of all previous religions and was the Promised One looked for by millions, according to a written release from the organization.

Recently announced are the members elected this year for the Baha’is of Smith County. They are Chairperson Karen Anglin; Secretary Stephanie Eijsink; and Treasurer Kevin Anglin. Marina DeMerritt, Terry DeMerritt, Charlon Weldon, Colby Collier, Enkmah Mosley, and Plasidad Velazquez are also members.
