Abuse Of Power, June 20
It seems our persistent, petulant president is at it again. If he doesn’t get his way, he just takes matters into his own hands. Now, the past two weeks on his campaign trail have been a bit rough. His $40,000 per plate fundraiser (a large percentage of Americans do not make that much in an entire year) only raised $4 million.
His hour-long speech in California had many pundits claiming “not only was it boring but it was just more of the same.” (Where is Chris Matthews with that “tingle” in his leg?) Bush still is to blame for everything and then there’s Europe, which is not cooperating with his reelection promises.
So he just trashed the Constitution and the laws we have on the books to grant “delayed” amnesty to 800,000 illegal immigrants in our country. I do not remember electing a dictator in 2008, and although many constitutional scholars immediately jumped on this action, he juts out his chin and double dares anyone to try to do something about his disregard of the rule of law.
As I’ve said before, God help us all because it surely seems we have no intention of standing up for ourselves.
