My Choice, June 20
I have been following with interest the letters in the Tyler Paper about the sheriff’s race in Smith County. Let me begin by saying I respect all of the hard work that George Stephenson and JoAnn Fleming have put into Grassroots America-We The People, but I for one want to make my own decision as to which candidate I prefer to choose.
I have met Chris Green and have a great admiration for his plans for Smith County. I have listened to his speeches and talked with him personally on many occasions. I have many friends and family who have known him for years and he is a man of integrity. I am not sure I would call GWTP a “fringe group,” but, their membership is by no means a majority of Smith County.
I would like to see an end to all of the sniping and let us get on with the business at hand. Chris has asked his supporters to refrain from such behavior and that is greatly appreciated. I would be proud to be able to call Chris Green the sheriff of Smith County.
