Police Arrest Man, 24, Following Alleged Robbery, Fight
An alleged armed robber is in custody after his victim followed and fought with him.

According to a news release issued by the Tyler Police Department, about 7:15 p.m. Saturday, Tyler police received a report of an armed robbery in the parking lot of the Dollar General store in a 1200 block of West Bow Street. The victim told authorities a man, later identified as Joshua Miles, 24, of Jacksonville, got into the victim’s parked car and robbed him at knifepoint, according to the release.

The victim reported to authorities that after the robbery, he followed Miles’ vehicle to a parking lot in the 1800 block of West Gentry Parkway, where a confrontation started between the alleged robber and victim. After the altercation, Miles fled the area and the victim recorded the license plate number of the vehicle, according to the release.

Miles is charged with aggravated robbery, a first-degree felony, possession of drug paraphernalia, failure to appear and driving without a license, according to Smith County Jail records. Miles was in custody at the Smith County Jail as of 9 p.m. Sunday.
