Drama Camps Slated For Glass Recreation
Tyler Parks and Recreation, along with Glass Recreation Center, plans to offer three new drama camps.
Classes are to be led by Sherene Hansen-Player, a former drama and theater teacher with more than 15 years of experience in the performing arts.
Participants can learn stage presence, costuming and make-up in the week-long, $15 sessions.
Enrollment is limited to 20 per session; meeting times are scheduled from 1 to 3 p.m. on these dates: July 23 to 25, Drama is Fun camp focuses on drama games, terms and activities; July 30 to Aug.1, Drama is Details, centers on stage make-up, costumes and props; and Aug. 6 to 8, Drama is Performing, teaches choreographed routines, music, scripts and blocking.
Each camp will end with a short performance for families and friends, and discussions on the possibility of forming a permanent drama program at the center.
The Glass Recreation Center is at 501 W. 32nd St.
