Man Dies In Single-Car Crash
A Tuesday morning car crash in Gladewater killed a 41-year-old man after police said he hit two utility poles and a brick retaining wall of the funeral home where his vehicle came to rest.
Gladewater Police Chief Farrell Alexander said the accident happened about 1:35 a.m. in the 400 block of Main Street/U.S. Highway 271.

Alexander said Bradley Naismith was traveling south on Main Street in a 2000 Ford flatbed pickup when he failed to negotiate a turn.
“The vehicle failed to negotiate a curve in the road and (Naismith) ran off the roadway striking two power poles at Allison Street and North Main Street.

The vehicle continued south, sideswiping a brick retaining wall at Croley Funeral Home and came to rest at Gregg Street and North Main,” he said.
Alexander said Naismith was deceased upon officers’ arrival.
Naismith was wearing a seatbelt and alcohol was observed in the vehicle but it is unknown at this time if it contributed to the crash, which remains under investigation.
