Three men believed to have committed several home burglaries in Tyler were jailed Friday after a traffic stop revealed stolen items in their possession.

Tyler police detective Andy Erbaugh said residents called 911 after seeing the men running from the back of a residence in the 4000 block of Cloverdale Drive shortly before 10 a.m. Friday.

Erbaugh said the resident told police the burglars got into a blue Nissan Titan pickup and fled the scene.

Officers found a home's back door kicked in, with jewelry, a jewelry box and alcohol missing from the residence.

Minutes later, a truck was pulled over during a traffic stop outside a detail shop at Front Street and Palace Avenue.

Luis Baeza, 20, Daniel Hernandez, 19, and Sabino Jiminez, 18, were taken into custody and charged with residential burglary.

Baeza had some of the stolen property on him, and he and the other two men told officers where they had thrown other items taken from the residence.

Sgt. James Riggle said detectives were talking to the three men to determine whether they were involved in additional burglaries in the city.
