Seven Rusk County residents were arraigned Monday morning on drug charges as a result of weekend search warrants, the Rusk County Sheriff's Office announced.

The Rusk County Narcotics Division, along with Henderson Police Department, executed search warrants Sunday at residences in the 4000 and 5000 blocks of County Road 3175 in Mount Enterprise.

A sheriff's tactical unit entered one residence while the police tactical unit entered the other, along with the assistance of the Texas Department of Public Safety, Rusk County Sheriff's Chief Deputy Ron Duncan said.

After executing the search warrants, officers arrested seven residents and seized more than 18 ounces of marijuana, more than 10 grams of crack cocaine, prescription medication, firearms and an underdetermined amount of money, according to a news release.

Duncan said all of the residents were in the homes when the warrants were executed.

“It was pretty typical of what we do in our narcotics investigations,” he said, adding that people in both residences knew each other. “If we get information, we're going to follow up.”

Rusk County Precinct 5 Justice of the Peace Judge Joe Sorrells arraigned the seven residents this morning.

Charles Ray Lewis, 54, of Mount Enterprise, was charged with manufacture delivery of a controlled substance, a first-degree felony; possession of marijuana, a class B misdemeanor; and possession of controlled substance, a class A misdemeanor, according to a news release. His bond was set at $30,000.

Brodrick Demon Hall, 39, of Mount Enterprise, was charged with manufacture delivery of a controlled substance and state jail felony level possession of marijuana. His bond was set at $20,000.

Sheldon Ramon Starling, 34, of Mount Enterprise, with a parole violation, was charged with possession of marijuana, and his bond was set at $10,000.

Others arrested at the scene were Xavier Fitzgerald Bryant, 22; Quillan Demon Moore, 20; Nico Dekeith Jones, 20, all of Mount Enterprise, and Anthony Benard Frazier, 19 of Marshall, all charged with possession of marijuana of the state jail felony level, according to a news release. Each of their bonds was set at $10,000.

Rusk County Sheriff Danny Pirtle thanked the multiple agencies who assisted with the investigation, including the Panola County Narcotics Division.

“This is a result of all agencies working together, as a team, to do our very best to get drugs off our streets,” Rusk County Sheriff Danny Pirtle said in a statement. “We do not set boundaries with other agencies when it comes to drugs. We will utilize available resources willing to assist in these type(s) of investigations. The Panola County Narcotics Division, Henderson Police Department and Texas Department of Public Safety are to be commended for their assistance.”

Duncan said federal charges could be filed in the future.
