Influence Game, Feb. 12
In the Sunday paper one article caught my eye. Mitt Romney stated last June in a New Hampshire town hall meeting that “humans have contributed to climate change, although it is not clear how much, and so I think it is important for us to reduce our emissions of pollutants and greenhouse gases that may be significant contributors to the climate change and global warming that you are seeing.”
That wasn’t Al Gore.
But since Pennsylvania coal producer Consol Energy donated to his political action committee, he has totally changed his mind. Consol had a $5.5 million dollar fine for polluting water. Of course, Romney’s spokespeople deny the money had any effect on him changing his mind.
To me, the environment should be protected at all costs. If we do not have the proper environment we will not have to worry about other things. We need to protect it for the future of our children.
