ETexas Communities Foundation Offerings Scholarships
The East Texas Communities Foundation is offering scholarships for hard-working East Texas students who want to continue their education.
March 1 is the deadline to apply; applications must be postmarked or delivered by that date.
Available scholarships include:
•
Juliette Low's Amazing Girls Scholarship is for a female graduating senior from Smith County involved in Girl Scouts; $1,000 available for one student.
•
David G. and Jacqueline M. Braithwaite Scholarship for Vocational/Technical Study in Medically Related Fields is for students pursuing a voc/tech AAS or certificate in a medically related field; $1,500 each, renewable for the length of the program.
• David G. and Jacqueline M. Braithwaite Scholarship in Chemistry is for graduating seniors majoring in chemistry; $3,000 each, renewable for three years.
• David G. and Jacqueline M. Braithwaite Scholarship in Medicine, Biotechnology, and Veterinary Medicine is for graduating seniors pursuing a career as a medical doctor, veterinarian or post-graduate study in biotechnology; $3,000 each, renewable for three years.
•
J.M. Braithwaite TJC Nursing Scholarship is for students pursuing a nursing degree at Tyler Junior College; $1,000 available, renewable scholarships.
•
Dr. Elbert H. Caldwell Scholarship is for residents wishing to pursue careers in medically related fields; $2,500 available, renewable scholarship.
•
East Texas Geological Society Scholarship Fund is for students pursuing a degree in geology in Texas. Must be a college sophomore, or higher; $1,000 available, renewable for two years.
•
Richard B. and Mary Lou Hamm Scholarship is for Bullard High School graduates attending the University of Texas at Tyler; $1,000, renewable for four years; available for two students.
•
Gladys and Thomas "TB" Stewart Scholarship is for graduating seniors from Smith County; $2,000, renewable for a total of four years; available for three students.
•
Winifred George Scholarship is for graduating seniors from Smith County attending Abilene Christian University; $1,000, renewable for four years.
• Adam Carroll Scholarship is for Grand Saline High School graduating seniors who participated in high school athletics or cheerleading (Van Zandt, Wood or Smith County only); $500, available for one student.

Citizens 1st Bank/Perkins Family Scholarship is for children of state employees who are residents of Cherokee, Nacogdoches or Smith County; available for five students.
•
Tim King Memorial Scholarship is for a graduating senior from Robert E. Lee in Tyler who plans to attend The University of Texas at Austin and major in business; $2,500, available for one student.
•
Chris Lyon Memorial Scholarship is for art majors at The University of Texas at Tyler; $1,000, available for one student.
•
Lauren Lewis Scholarship is for graduating seniors from Robert E. Lee High School and All Saints Episcopal School of Tyler who plan to attend Texas A&M University; $1,000, available for two students.
•
Natural Gas Society of East Texas Scholarship is for a student pursuing an undergraduate or master's degree in the energy industry; $1,000, available for one student.
•
Gary Neel Memorial Scholarship is for Robert E. Lee High School graduates attending The University of Texas at Austin; $2,500, available for one student.
•
Partners in Arts Scholarship is for graduating seniors planning a degree in performing or visual arts (applied, performance or education-Smith County only); $1,000, available for two students.
•
Leslie Reid Memorial Scholarship is for any female Henderson County senior who has participated in horse shows in Henderson County; $1,000, available for one student.
•
Retail Merchants Association Scholarship is for Smith County graduating seniors planning to major in business; $1,000, recipient number to be determined.
•
Kristen and Joey Seeber Scholarship is for graduating seniors from Robert E. Lee High School and John Tyler High School; $500, available for one student.
•
Sharyland Utilities Scholarship is for graduating seniors from high schools in Celeste ISD, Celeste, Texas; $400, available for one student.
•
Smith County Baptist Ministers Scholarship is for dependent children of ordained ministers serving congregations who are members of the Baptist General Convention of Texas; amount to be determined

emorial Scholarship is for graduating seniors from Winnsboro High School; $500, available for one student.
•
Texas Rose Festival Scholarship is for Smith County graduating seniors and college students. Preference is given to those who participated in the Boys and Girls Club of East Texas; $500, available for one student.

Tyler Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association Scholarship is for children of a current employee, retired or deceased member of the Tyler Police Department; $500, available for two students.
